So sorry for the delay, yesterday I forgot my adapter plug at home and needless to say, had a very uneventful day at work as a result.

But anyways... updates form the weekend.

So, you know how its never a good idea to try to plan something when all of your friends are right in the immediate vicinity? Well, we relived that lesson again this past week. Kelly, Pania, and I had been throwing around the idea of a big chilli cook, American style of course, and Thursday night the idea was brought up again. We were throwing around dates and times and couldn't seem to find anything that worked for all of us until Pania suggested, "How about tomorrow night?" "Well.. Yea, I guess that would work" "Well, who would you want to invite?" And that is how it starts... The three of us all went off in a different direction inviting friends and people we knew. Then soon, people were asking us if they could bring others and withing about 15 minutes we had 30 - 40 people coming to Kelly and Pania's small flat for dinner. Even Steve from Christchurch was coming (no one knew who Steve from Christchurch was...)

So you could say that things got a bit nuts... but never the less, we bravely pressed on. Pania took over the guest list and Friday afternoon, Kelly and I ventured out tot the restaurant supply store to buy very large portions of things for our epic chili cook. At least chili doesn't take too terrible long to make.

We stopped off at the grocery store after and then headed back to the flat to try to pull off our amazing feat..

It was quite interesting but we managed to pull it off somehow and serve 18 people for dinner I think, and give everyone a tupperware of chili to take home, besides having almost an entire pot leftover (there's another pot not in this picture) So it was a wonderful weekend of chili, chili for lunch and dinner Saturday as well. Here are some blurry pictures form the party.

A good night. Took two days to do the dishes form it too. By Saturday evening, I was completely exhausted and enjoyed staying in for the evening, doing laundry, and watching tv movies.

Kelly was a trooper too, She walked around with me all of Saturday while I wore this funny hat and kept taking ridiculous pictures. This coming weekend, the two of us are headed down to Nelson and Picton on the south island for an adventure.

Creepin on Kelly..

You know, just a cat chillin by a Bently.

This is Garth, the attack rabbit. A bit hard to see, but he was HUGE

A really cool handmade fence

We stopped for a "proper tea" (another attempt to culture me) but I had to be explained how to use it all haha. Quite delicious (but it tasted just like normal tea...)

Sunday was a good day too, I was out in the late afternoon with Kyla.

Kyla is African. She was born in South Africa and came to New Zealand when she was just 2 years old. She has a great style and didn't mind letting me creep a bit.

We went out to take pictures for a photography course she's working on

I'm sure her pictures here much cooler than mine, but it was a good afternoon walk around. We ended up meeting up with some more friends at a Korean place for dinner (where the owner was singing the Gangnam style song, so funny) and ended the evening at a coffee shop debating who is the greater musician, Coldplay or Michael Jackson, explaining the Helen Keller rule of Apples to Apples, and reliving our Pokemon trainer days.

This week! After just three short days, Kelly and I embark on our mini adventure to the North of the South island. We're flying into Nelson and Driving to Picton then taking the ferry across the Cook Straight back to Wellington. Many stories and pictures to come!

  1. Anna,

Again LOVE the pictures! And I can see you making all the chili - remember when you made it for the rookies and had TONS of it left over on that occasion too! We were eating chili for days. I hope everyone enjoyed your delicious recipe.

Also, I really like your hat that you are wearing. It suits you very well. And where did the attack rabbit come from?? :)
